SCBA is a group of autonomous (self-governing) congregations, cooperating together as Southern Baptist Churches here in South Central Pennsylvania. Our 28 churches and 38 pastors serve Berks, Dauphin, Lancaster, Lebanon, Northumberland and Schuykill counties. On any given weekend you will find us meeting in traditional buildings, store fronts, and in a variety of locations. You will hear a variety of languages and experience every style of worship.
Our purpose is to help strengthen churches, assist in starting new churches and cooperate with others to grow the Kingdom of God.
Our vision is to...
Equip churches to fulfill their God-given purpose,
Engage churches in starting healthy church plants,
Encourage churches through regular times of fellowship, and
Enable churches to cooperate in missions and ministry throughout the world.
If I can personally assist you in anyway please contact me. Thanks for visiting!
The Rev. Ben Scott, Ph.D.
SCBA Pastors are invited to a pastor's prayer time and "Dutch Treat" lunch on Tuesday, September 20, 2016. Prayer time begins at 10am at the SCBA office in Elizabethtown, and lunch starts at 11:30am at Hoss's Steak and Seafood Restaurant, Elizabethtown. Pastors are encouraged to bring their prayer requests, praise items, and church updates to the prayer session. Those who can't attend are encouraged to email or telephone their items to Dr. Ben Scott, SCBA DOM.
The 36th annual (fall) meeting of the South Central Baptist Association will be held on Saturday, October 15, 2016 from 9:00am to 11:30am. As one of two annual meetings, this is the big one! We'll elect officers, hear proposals, vote on issues, learn about God's work in our six-county region, sing, pray, worship, and eat together.
Please announce in your church and plan to attend a Teacher Training Workshop focused on children, youth, and adults for Sunday Bible study programs. Using best practices from our SCBA churches, those who teach and those who direct the Sunday morning Bible study programs (formerly called Sunday School Superintendents) will learn how to prepare during the week, use Lifeway materials in class, and follow up with students.
This is something you won't want to miss! More information to come, including location, specific topics, and a list of workshop leaders.
SCBA pastors and wife are invited to a special Christmas fellowship dinner to be at Hoss's Steak and Seafood Restaurant, Elizabethtown, on Friday, December 2nd, 2016; 6:00-8:00pm. A complimentary all-you-can-eat dinner buffet will be available, and we'll share testimonies of God's goodness to us throughout the year. We'll enjoy a special presentation of the Christmas story, sing carols, and enjoy a time of fellowship. No need to bring a gift, but it would help if you notify Dr. Ben that you and your wife will be attending.
