Welcome

SCBA is a group of autonomous (self-governing) congregations, cooperating together as Southern Baptist Churches here in South Central Pennsylvania. Our 28 churches and 38 pastors serve Berks, Dauphin, Lancaster, Lebanon, Northumberland and Schuykill counties.  On any given weekend you will find us meeting in traditional buildings, store fronts, and in a variety of locations. You will hear a variety of languages and experience every style of worship.

Our purpose is to help strengthen churches, assist in starting new churches and cooperate with others to grow the Kingdom of God.

Our vision is to...

Equip churches to fulfill their God-given purpose,

Engage churches in starting healthy church plants,

Encourage churches through regular times of fellowship, and

Enable churches to cooperate in missions and ministry throughout the world.

If I can personally assist you in anyway please contact me.  Thanks for visiting!

  • SCBA Pastor & Wife Dinner...Big Success!

    An Annual Tradition!
Every year...first Friday of December...SCBA Pastor & Wife from across our six counties come together for food, fellowship, gifts, and reading of the Christmas story. This year Pastor Jerry Cowan served as Master of Ceremonies, and 23 attended at Hoss's Restaurant in Elizabethtown.

Shown here, L to R, Dottie & Jack Peters (First New Holland); Jerry & Keim Cowan (Valley Baptist, Middletown). Far end of the table on the left is Jim & Linda Luck (Bethel, Manheim) and Dago & America Franco (Manantial, Reading).

    Great Spanish Contingent!
    Two-thirds of attendees

For the first time in 14 years, Pastors who speak Spanish as their first language outnumbered English speakers by a 2:1 ratio. Everything was translated back-and-forth from one language to the other so that everyone could enjoy the reports of God's work in our congregations...and of course, how to get your food and gift!

    Private Dining Room Needed
Pastor & Wife break out in song
It was spontaneous! After Pastor Alberto Hernandez read the Christmas story from Luke 2 (and wife, Jenny translated into English), the group broke out in "Amazing Grace" (third photo). Even our private dining room caused a restaurant-wide disruption. Your pastors witnessed the message of God's saving grace while celebrating. What an awesome group!
