SCBA is a group of autonomous (self-governing) congregations, cooperating together as Southern Baptist Churches here in South Central Pennsylvania. Our 28 churches and 38 pastors serve Berks, Dauphin, Lancaster, Lebanon, Northumberland and Schuykill counties.  On any given weekend you will find us meeting in traditional buildings, store fronts, and in a variety of locations. You will hear a variety of languages and experience every style of worship.

Our purpose is to help strengthen churches, assist in starting new churches and cooperate with others to grow the Kingdom of God.

Our vision is to...

Equip churches to fulfill their God-given purpose,

Engage churches in starting healthy church plants,

Encourage churches through regular times of fellowship, and

Enable churches to cooperate in missions and ministry throughout the world.

If I can personally assist you in anyway please contact me.  Thanks for visiting!

Pastor Ben

  • Record 9 Pastors Pray Using Zoom Videoconferencing!

On Tuesday, May 14, 2019, SCBA crossed a milestone in pastoral participation in prayer. Nine pastors joined to pray for our Association and our 24 member churches, and one of the pastors was a visitor from Hazleton.

God is using our Tuesday morning prayer time to draw SCBA pastors together to each other and to the Lord. We laugh and cry and pray together for the glory of God and our own good.

All SCBA pastors are invited to participate on Tuesday mornings, 10am to 10:30am using the free Zoom videoconference platform on a computer or smart phone. Personal help in using the technology is always available, and once a pastor learns how to use it, a whole new world of communication is possible!

  • SCBA Launches Baptist Builders Projects for 2019

SCBA completed its pilot project for it's new chapter of SBC Baptist Builders in September 2018 and has now launched its projects for 2019. Two projects are on the docket, and more projects are needed. Volunteers are also needed in 2019, particularly those with a kingdom mindset, heart of compassion, and willing hands to serve all of our SBC churches and pastors worldwide, starting in South Central PA.

We voluntarily engage in construction projects to serve people and our Lord Jesus Christ, including carpentry, drywall, electrical, painting, plumbing, tile, flooring, and demolition.

We consult with churches, pastors, and SBC entity leaders in the early planning states of construction, renovation, and maintenance of ministry buildings (including pastoral residences) in order to provide viable and healthy solutions.

We cooperate with all chapters of SBC Baptist Builders, whether they join us on Pennsylvania projects or we join them on their home turf.

We launch into projects with a bag of tools and this Bible verse:

"Whatever you do, do your work heartily, as for the Lord rather than for men...It is the Lord Christ whom you serve"(Colossians 3:23,24 NASB).
