TEAMS Concept Resources

SCBA functions around the TEAMS Concept, an acronym describing the five principle resources offered to churches.

T - Training and Discipleship through the Antioch / BILD program; offers cohort model learning (small groups) with goals of personal enrichment (pastors "brushing up", deacon and leader training, etc.), nondegree college credit (to be transferred into other accredited programs), and credit courses for bachelor's, master's, and doctoral degrees. Provides or connects single-church or cluster-church training for Sunday School teachers, program directors, superintendents, and Bible study leaders of all types: men's groups, women's, etc.

E - Evangelism training and support; offers group and individual training on how to present the gospel to family and friends as well as organizes groups from member churches to help member churches achieve their evangelism goals. SCBA organizes and connects people to staff Vacation Bible Schools, back-yard Bible clubs, literature distribution, block parties, and other events where an "all hands on deck" need occurs.

A - Administration support; offers church treasurers, clerks, and administrators training and on-site support for administrative tasks such as ministry payroll and taxes (through Quickbooks), providing health insurance and retirement programs for church staff (through Guidestone Financial Resources), setting up non-profit bank accounts, insurance protection assessment through Brotherhood Mutual Insurance, legal issues (including compliance with PA child protection laws, editing a church's Constitution & By-Laws and submitting changes to the PA Dept of State for recording), stewardship, budgeting, licensing and ordination for ministry, pastoral and deacon installation ceremonies, etc.

M - Missions support; offers worship leaders help on communicating the achievements, needs, and strategies of world missions within member churches. Assists WMU chapters to start (Woman's Missionary Union) and provides encouragement for the annual Lottie Moon Christmas Offering for World Missions, benefiting thousands of missionaries around the world through the International Missions Board of the Southern Baptist Convention (IMB).

S - Starting Churches support; offers pastors and church leaders strategy consultation, demographic assessment, prayer support, and event staffing for churches wanting to start a new church nearby. Using the self-sustaining methods Jesus advised in Luke 10, churches will learn how disciple-making disciples become church-starting churches within PA's unique culture. Provides encouragement for the annual Annie Armstrong Easter Offering for North American Missions, benefitting thousands of missionaries in the USA, Canada, and Mexico through the North American Mission Board of the Southern Baptist Convention (NAMB).
